?? Covid update - Tuesday ??
?? Some very encouraging news today. Not only have we recorded the 12th consecutive day of having no new cases in the Hunter-New England region, there has only been three new cases Statewide.
?? Of those three, one is a returned traveller in hotel quarantine, one is linked to the funeral cluster in south-west Sydney, and the source of the other in south-west Sydney is still being investigated.
?? Even though that's good news, NSW Health has reminded us that there has still been 16 cases Statewide over the past four weeks where the source has not been identified. That remains a concern because it means the virus is still circulating undetected and an untracked infection could pop up anywhere in the community. It's absolutely essential that we maintain our vigilance.
?? It appears that the situation in Victoria is continuing to improve. There were 222 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, and sadly 17 more deaths.
?? Australia's death toll now stands at 438, including 54 in NSW and 347 in Victoria.
?? Active cases in NSW are steady at 911, but stand at 7670 in Victoria.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
