?? Covid update - Friday ??
?? No new cases in the Hunter-New England region again today. That's eight days in a row and a great sign that the four cases who visited two Newcastle schools and a host of pubs and clubs were tracked and contained quickly and successfully.
?? Statewide there were just nine new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Of those nine, five were acquired from known cases, a further two were household contacts of known cases, one was a staff member at Liverpool Hospital while the remaining case was acquired from an unknown source.
?? The number of active cases in NSW is now estimated at 891, and at 8081 in Victoria. All of those people are now isolated or in quarantine.
?? Victoria recorded a further 372 cases today and sadly another 14 deaths. Among those deaths was a man aged in his 20s. That follows the deaths of two men aged in their 30s in recent days.
?? None of it is good news, but things are certainly looking a bit better than they were last week. An outstanding job being done by the trackers, tracers and nursing teams in NSW.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? If you notice any symptoms, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
