?? Covid update - Monday ??
?? For the 18th consecutive day there were no new cases in the Hunter-New England region.
?? Statewide, just three new cases have been reported over the past 24 hours despite more than 20,000 tests.
?? Of those three, two are returned travellers from overseas who went straight into hotel quarantine. The other is a close contact of a previously reported case and was also isolating during their infectious period.
?? In more good news, there were just 116 new cases recorded in Victoria over the past 24 hours which is the lowest daily figure for almost six weeks. Sadly, Victoria recorded a further 15 deaths in the past 24 hours.
?? Australia's death toll now stands at 517, including 54 in NSW and 430 in Victoria.
?? The number of active cases in NSW has remained stable at 221, while the number of active cases in Victoria has dropped almost 200 again in the past day and now stands at 4093.
?? As I've mentioned previously, the major concern for health authorities remains the number of cases where no source has been confirmed. There are currently 20 cases in NSW with no known source, which means the virus is still circulating in the community undetected and could pop up anywhere in a new cluster.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? If you notice any symptoms, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
