?? Covid update - Thursday ??
?? Three weeks without a new case in the Hunter-New England region! Well done everyone!
?? I haven't been briefed on any details yet, but Premier Gladys Berejiklian has today flagged that an easing of restrictions may soon be announced for regional areas such as ours. I'll keep you posted.
?? There were nine new cases reported statewide over the past 24 hours.
?? Of those, five are linked to the Sydney CBD cluster and four are close contacts of previously-reported cases.
?? There were just 148 new cases recorded in Victoria over the past 24 hours and sadly a further 23 deaths.
?? Australia's death toll now stands at 572, including 54 in NSW and 485 in Victoria.
?? The number of active cases in NSW has dropped again and now stands at 176. The number of active cases in Victoria is also falling but still stands at 3308.
?? As I've mentioned previously, the major concern for health authorities remains the number of cases where no source has been confirmed. There are currently 16 cases in NSW with no known source, which means the virus is still circulating in the community undetected and could pop up anywhere in a new cluster.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? If you notice any symptoms, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
