?? Covid update - Wednesday ??
?? For the 26th consecutive day there were no new cases in the Hunter-New England region.
?? There were 17 new cases reported statewide over the past 24 hours. Of those, one is a returned traveller in quarantine, 15 are linked to a known Sydney cluster or case, and one is locally acquired with no known source.
?? It's that last case which causes particular concern for health agencies because it could indicate a new cluster that is not being tracked. It also indicates that the virus is still circulating in some communities undetected.
?? There were 90 new cases recorded in Victoria over the past 24 hours and a further five deaths. There were two new cases recorded in Queensland.
?? Australia's death toll now stands at 663, with the NSW toll still at 54 and Victoria's climbing to 576.
?? The number of active cases in NSW stands at 175. The number of active cases in Victoria is still falling but stands at 2415. There are 28 active cases in Queensland.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? If you notice any symptoms, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
