COVID UPDATE - MONDAY
TWO BIG ZEROS FOR THE SECOND DAY RUNNING! NSW has recorded no new cases over the past 24 hours - that's zero community transmission and zero returned travellers diagnosed while in quarantine. The last time we had a result like this was early June. Great news, but not something we can become complacent about.
Obviously, there were no new cases in the Hunter-New England region over the past 24 hours - that's 52 consecutive days - and we have no active cases being treated in the Hunter-New England region.
There were just 5 new cases reported in Victoria over the past 24 hours and 3 more deaths. No new cases in QLD but 7 in WA which have been identified on a visiting cargo ship.
Australia's death toll stands at 875, with the NSW toll still at 55 and Victoria's 787.
The number of active cases in NSW remains at 81. There are 359 (down 40) active cases in Victoria and just 8 in Queensland (up one).
WE MUST KEEP THIS TREND GOING! Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
If you notice any symptoms, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
