?? COVID UPDATE - Wednesday October 14
?? Not the most encouraging news today with another 14 new cases reported in NSW over the past 24 hours.
?? Of those, only 3 are returned overseas travellers in quarantine. Of the remaining 11, nine are linked to the growing cluster identified at a Lakemba medical centre in western Sydney. All nine are family members or close associates of the known cases so they have been isolating since the first case was identified.
?? The other two cases are linked to a different cluster, also at a health clinic in SW Sydney.
?? The Hunter-New England region has now gone 68 days without a locally-acquired case.
?? There were 7 new cases reported in Victoria over the past 24 hours and five deaths. We are still waiting on today's figures from other states.
?? Australia's death toll is now 904, with the NSW toll still at 55 and Victoria's at 816.
?? The number of active cases in NSW is 31. There are 182 active cases in Victoria.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
