GREAT NEWS - 10 FULL WEEKS IN THE HUNTER REGION WITH NO COMMUNITY TRANSMISSION ??????
?? COVID UPDATE - Friday October 16
?? In more encouraging news, there were just five new cases reported statewide over the past 24 hours. Four of them are returned travellers already in quarantine while the fifth is a household contact of a previously reported case. Those figures come despite 16,391 tests.
?? The Hunter-New England region has now gone 70 days without a locally-acquired case.
?? And to keep the good news going, just 2 new cases reported in Victoria over the past 24 hours and no deaths. There's also two new cases in QLD.
?? Australia's death toll remains at 904 with the NSW toll still at 55 and Victoria's at 816.
?? The number of active cases in NSW is 45. There are 157 active cases in Victoria, 4 in QLD, 24 in WA and 4 in SA. Tasmania, the ACT and NT remain Covid-free.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.
