COVID UPDATE - Saturday January 16
Just the 1 new case of community transmission in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm, but 11 new cases among the returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine. The 1 case is under investigation but is believed to be linked to the Berala cluster.
The Hunter-New England region has now gone 162 days without a locally-acquired case.
Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
The number of active cases in NSW continues to fall and is down to 130. Victoria has 26, there are 29 in QLD, 18 in WA, 10 in SA and 19 in the NT. Tasmania and the ACT have zero.
Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
