200 days Covid-free for Lake Macquarie
22nd February 2021
Today marks 200 days since Hunter New England Health district recorded a locally-acquired case of Covid-19. Our last case was on August 6 last year.
Given what we’ve seen overseas, and even here in Australia, that is a remarkable community effort.
It’s an effort that has saved countless lives.
While I thank NSW Health, the Premier and State Government and the awesome tracing teams, I also thank the broader community for an achievement which is envied around the world.
Here’s hoping we get another 200!
