¿ RESTRICTIONS ON PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO CHANGE
¿ The Premier has announced an easing of Covid-related restrictions on public schools. From next Monday, March 8:
- Parents/carers can enter school grounds to drop off and pick up students as per the school's normal arrangements.
- Parents/carers can attend sporting or cultural events (indoors and out) at schools, in line with the normal requirements and distancing rules of non-school venues.
¿ There were no new cases of community transmission anywhere in NSW over the past 24 hours - that's 47 consecutive days. There were 12 new cases among the returned overseas travellers in the past 24 hours.
¿ The Hunter Region has now gone 211 days without a locally-transmitted case.
¿ NSW has started including returned travellers in its 'active case' numbers in line with other States. NSW currently has 56 active cases (all are returned travellers in quarantine). There are 5 in Victoria, 21 in QLD, 3 in WA, 4 in SA, 2 in the ACT and 1 in the NT. Tasmania has zero active cases.
¿ Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
¿ Please continue to stay safe, vigilant and maintain the social distancing.
¿ Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately.
