COVID UPDATE - Sunday March 14
NEW CASE: The State’s run of 55 days with no community transmission has come to an end with a hotel quarantine worker testing positive this morning (not included in the graphic below which only reflects the situation up to 8pm). Obviously, tracking and tracing is under way. The worker had already received the first vaccination shot, but not the second.
A community transmission was also confirmed in QLD yesterday - a doctor who works in the Covid ward of a Brisbane Hospital.
There were 5507 vaccinations in NSW yesterday, bringing the State's total so far to 36,820.
The Hunter Region has now gone 220 days without a locally-transmitted case.
NSW currently has 51 active cases (all are returned travellers in quarantine).
Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 of those in NSW.
