¿ COVID UPDATE - Monday March 29
¿ A bit of news to get through today as the situation in Brisbane has worsened.
¿ Firstly, all good in NSW - no new cases of community transmission for the 12th day in a row, and just 2 new cases among the returned overseas travellers in quarantine.
¿ The QLD Government has today announced a snap three-day lockdown of the Greater Brisbane area from 5pm today. That comes after four new cases of community transmission were recorded yesterday. Two of those cases visited the Byron Bay area while unknowingly infectious. If you have been to Brisbane or Byron Bay recently or hosted visitors from the area, please check the latest advice here: https://www.qld.gov.au/.../health.../coronavirus-covid-19
¿ On a more positive note, a number of significant restrictions in NSW have been eased today. See the graphic below for more details.
¿ So far, 97.141 people in NSW have been vaccinated, and 515,400 nationally.
¿ The Hunter Region has now gone 235 days without a locally-transmitted case.
¿ NSW currently has 50 active cases (all are returned travellers in quarantine). QLD has 73, WA has 11, Victoria has 1, SA has 15 and the NT has 2. The ACT and Tasmania have zero.
¿ Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 of those in NSW.
