Some great news! I’m at Morisset Police Station with Lake Macquarie Police
Superintendent Danny Sullivan to announce that nine new highway patrol officers will be permanently based at the local station.
This is a direct result of our push to get more police in the local area. It also comes after new figures show that speed, drink and drug driving, and mobile phone-related driving offences have spiked on our roads, along with an increase in injuries and fatalities in accidents.
These additional officers will also be targeting the local hoons who have been turning local streets into drag strips.
It’s a great breakthrough and I particularly want to thank Superintendent Sullivan for the work he has done in getting us to this point.
