¿ COVID UPDATE - Wednesday July 21 ¿
¿ The good news today is that there's been no community transmission in the Lake Macquarie- Newcastle area for the 349th consecutive day.
¿ The story in Sydney is not so good, although it's fair to argue that the restrictions have stopped many thousands more infections. Sydney recorded 110 new cases of community transmission in the 24 hours to 8pm. Of those, 43 were active in the Sydney community while infectious, which remains a great concern.
¿ We have 106 people being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals. Of those, 23 are in ICU and 11 people are on ventilators.
¿ The number of cases recorded in this Sydney outbreak now totals 1528. Of those, 1393 are still active but of course those people are now isolated.
¿ Support for businesses impacted by the current outbreak and restrictions is available through Service NSW on 13 77 88, with more information here.
¿ Please remember to use common sense when moving around the place and getting tested if you experience any symptoms. Please stay vigilant and stay safe!
