Yr2 students sent home at Macquarie College

COVID UPDATE - Macquarie College students sent home I've been getting a few inquiries about the situation at Macquarie College on Lake Rd at Wallsend. Yr 2 students at the school have been sent home today after a student was identified via QR codes as being a close contact of a person who visited a petrol station at Goulburn while infectious. The young student and family have been tested and returned negative results, but will isolate at home for 14 days, as per NSW Health guidelines. The student and his family have done everything right. In fact, this type of thing shows how important the QR code system is in tracing contacts and isolating any spread of the virus. Two classrooms at the school are being deep cleaned and Principal Rohan Dean has said the school will reopen as normal tomorrow.
