¿¿¿¿ MEET OUR NEW TOP COP ¿¿¿¿
Very happy to introduce you to Superintendent Rashelle Conroy who takes over from Danny Sullivan as the chief of Lake Macquarie Police District. I'm looking forward to working with Supt Conroy and meeting with her soon to discuss all of the issues we have in the area.
For now, though, here's a few words from Supt Conroy as she takes hold of the local reins.
"I would like to introduce myself as the new Commander of Lake Macquarie Police District. I joined the New South Wales Police Force in 1995 and worked at both Blacktown and Cabramatta Police Stations, before transferring to the Physical Evidence Section at Penrith in 1999, later moving to the Chatswood Section in 2001 and then to Gosford in 2002.
In 2006, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant as a supervisor in the Gosford Crime Scene Section. In 2008, I was promoted to the rank of Senior Sergeant as the Hunter Zone Coordinator and in 2011 was further promoted to the rank of Inspector at Tuggerah Lakes Police Area Command, taking up the role of Duty Officer.
I returned to the Forensic Evidence and Technical Services Command in 2014 as the Human Resources/Professional Standards Manager and was promoted to the rank of Superintendent, Crime Scene Services Branch in 2019. As the Commander of Crime Scene Services Branch, I had a strong focus on improving biometric evidence recovery rates to assist in the early identification of offenders and implemented new technology to exploit forensic evidence opportunities to solve crime. I was also focused on improving forensic services to victims across the state.
As I return to the Northern Region to take command of Lake Macquarie Police District, I look forward to working with the dedicated and professional officers within the District and to serving the Lake Macquarie community. Since taking up Command of the Lake Macquarie Police District in early August, my focus has been on the COVID-19 pandemic response and keeping the community of Lake Macquarie safe during this challenging time. I have implemented high visibility policing and compliance activities that will continue across the district.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Lake Macquarie community for your compliance with the Public Health Orders over the weekend. Your continued cooperation with the Public Health Orders is greatly appreciated and will assist in our efforts in keeping the community safe.
Please take care and stay safe."
