Thanks to all our essential workers

Well, that's been quite a week. Thank you to all our nurses and health staff. Thanks to our aged care workers. Thanks to the testers, the tracers, the support workers, the teachers, our police, the supermarket workers, the pharmacists and their staff and every other essential worker chipping in behind the scenes. Thank you for turning up, day in, day out, tonight, tomorrow and next week and getting the job done. Please know that everyone in the Lake Macquarie community is grateful for what you're doing in incredibly tough circumstances. I simply don't remember a more extraordinary time, but we will certainly remember your efforts for a long time to come. I also want to thank everyone in the local community who has been doing the right thing and keeping safe. We still have a way to go, and while I hope I'm not jumping the gun, there were some very positive signs in today's figures and if things stay that way over the next few days, we may just get through this quicker than we first feared. A quick shout out also to my small team who are buried somewhere under thousands of emails, Facebook messages and phone calls. You're amazing too. To everyone backing up over the weekend and into next week, thank you. It's going to be some party when we all get to the other side of this. Stay safe everyone.
