¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.10am Sunday August 15 ¿
¿ A little bit of good news this morning with infections in the Hunter Region stabilising. There were 9 new cases recorded in the Hunter-New England health district in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. This brings the total number of cases in our health district to 104.
¿ Of the 9 new cases, 3 are in Newcastle LGA, 3 from Post Stephens LGA, 2 from Maitland LGA and 1 from Lake Macquarie LGA.
¿ Eight are linked to previously reported cases and one is still under investigation. Two were infectious while in the community and two were associated with the aged care cluster.
¿ STATEWIDE: The State recorded 415 new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and four more deaths, all in Sydney.
¿ HOSPITALISATIONS: There are 381 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 62 in ICU and 24 on ventilators.
¿ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: I have posted answers to the most frequently asked questions on the new rules and restrictions. You'll find it on my page Greg Piper MP, posted at 10.40am today.
¿ FINES: People found by police to have breached the Public Health Order now face fines of up to $5000, up from $1000. Fines for breaching the two-person exercise rule will increase to $3000. Details are on yesterday's post on my page Greg Piper MP.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: I'm sorry but I've not been able to update the list of exposure sites in the past 24 hours on my website. You can see the latest list on the Hunter Health website.
¿ VACCINATIONS: Some good news today with 500,000 additional Pfizer vaccines have been secured for NSW. We will see those available over the coming weeks throughout the State, but predominantly in the hotspots of SW Sydney. Anyone still having problems rebooking vaccination appointments at the Belmont hub is urged contact to Hunter-New England Health by email at: HNELHD-COVIDClinicBookingChange@health.nsw.gov.au and remember to provide your full name, address and contact number.
¿ Please stay safe, stay vigilant, and stay home unless you absolutely have to go somewhere.
