There were three new cases in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. This brings the total number of cases in the local outbreak to 182. Of those

¿ COVID UPDATE - Monday August 30
¿ There were three new cases in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. This brings the total number of cases in the local outbreak to 182.
¿ Of those new cases:
- 2 are from Lake Macquarie LGA (1 from Whitebridge who was infectious in the community and 1 from Edgeworth which was not linked to the aged care cluster. Investigations into the Edgeworth case are ongoing as to infectious status.)
- 1 is from Cessnock LGA ( from Cessnock and was infectious in the community)
¿ Just one of those three new cases is linked to previously reported cases. We have 7 people currently being cared for in hospital locally with COVID-19. One patient is in ICU. We also have 621 local people who were close contacts and are now in isolation.
¿ STATEWIDE: There were 1290 new cases recorded throughout NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Another four deaths were recorded in Sydney overnight.
¿ There have been 93 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since June 16, and 149 in total since the start of the pandemic. There have been 20,061 locally acquired cases reported statewide since June 16, when the first case in this outbreak was reported.
¿ HOSPITALISATIONS: There are 840 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 137 in ICU and 48 on ventilators.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: A number of new exposure sites have been listed over the past 48 hours. They are predominantly in the Maitland and Raymond Terrace areas but include one at Westfield Kotara and one at Windale. These latest sites can be viewed on my website here.
