Covid update - Monday

Another 18 new cases were reported in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. These new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 310.
¿ EIGHTEEN NEW LOCAL CASES
¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.10am Monday September 13
- Change to outdoor restriction rule
- Change for learner drivers and driving others to work
- New local exposure sites
¿ Another 18 new cases were reported in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. These new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 310. There are currently 161 active cases in the local region. While one of those people have died, 148 local people have now fully recovered.
¿ Of those new cases:
¿¿ 5 are from Lake Macquarie LGA
¿¿ 2 in Arcadia Vale
¿¿ 1 in Balcolyn
¿ 1 in Blackhalls Park
¿ 1 in Boolaroo
¿¿ 5 are from Newcastle LGA
¿¿ 2 in Mayfield
¿¿ 2 in Mayfield West
¿ 1 in Elermore Vale
¿ 1 in Hamilton South
¿¿ 4 are from Port Stephens LGA
¿¿ 1 in Salamander Bay
¿¿ 1 in Nelson Bay
¿ 1 in Anna Bay
¿ 1 in Soldiers Point
¿¿ 2 are from Maitland LGA
¿¿ 1 in Tenambit
¿¿ 1 in Mayfield
¿¿ 2 are from Cessnock LGA
¿¿ 1 in Greta
¿¿ 1 in Weston
¿¿ 8 of the cases are linked, 2 are unlinked and 8 under
investigation.
¿ 2 were isolating while infectious, 8 were infectious in
the community, with 8 under investigation.
¿ Nine of the total active cases are currently being cared for in hospital and none are in ICU. We also have 546 close contacts are in isolation locally.
¿ A further 16 cases were reported in the Central Coast region to our south yesterday.
¿ STATEWIDE: There were 1257 new cases reported throughout NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Sadly, seven more deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours, all in Sydney.
¿ HOSPITALISATIONS: There are 1189 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 222 in ICU and 94 requiring ventilators.
¿ OUTDOOR GATHERINGS: From today, up to five fully vaccinated people can meet outdoors in their LGA for exercise or recreation such as a picnic in the park or at the beach. I've listed answers to all the frequently asked questions about this rule on my website here.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: HNE Health has released details of a number of new exposure sites, including at Wangi Wangi, Rathmines, Cardiff, Swansea, Hamilton, Wallsend, Boolaroo and Taree. You can read full details of those sites here.
¿ DRIVING and LEARNER DRIVING: The Health Minister has today signed off on a change to the Public Health Order which allows for driving someone to work, and also teaching a learner driver. In short, both are now formally allowed but are subject to some conditions. read more here.
¿ VACCINATIONS: Across NSW, 78.5 per cent of the over-16 population has received a first dose COVID-19 vaccine, and 46.2 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11:59pm on Saturday, 11 September 2021.
