¿ EXPOSURE SITES: New exposure sites named by HNE Health overnight include a Charlestown medical centre, Cessnock courthouse, a pathology centre at Cessnock and other sites at Kurri, Rutherford and Jesmond. Full details on the new sites (including a link to the full list at NSW Health) are on my website HERE.
¿ SYDNEY TRAVEL BAN EXTENDED: The Government has announced that the ban on non-essential travel between the regions and Greater Sydney (inc the Central Coast) will be extended to November 1. The ban was due to be lifted for fully vaccinated people when the State's vax rate hit 80%, but there has been concern that the rates in many regional areas are well below that. I know that ban is quite distressing to many locals who have family on the Central Coast and in Sydney, but I'm afraid we're going to be waiting a few weeks longer. It's tough for us living on that border, but I also know there are many others happy to keep the Sydneysiders away for a few more weeks until our full vaccination rates catch up. Double vaxed people can still travel region to region.
¿ STATEWIDE:
- 91.4% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 77.8% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 85,000 tests
- 399 new locally acquired cases
- 1 new overseas acquired cases
- 400 new total cases
- 677 people in hospital
- 145 people in ICU
- 4 deaths
¿ POP-UP VAX CLINIC AT TORONTO: Just a reminder that there will be a pop-up Pfizer vaccination clinic at Toronto on Sunday October 17. It will be held at the Toronto Community Health centre, 6 James St from 10am to 2pm. Open to everyone aged 12+, but children 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
¿ WALK-IN VAX CLINIC FOR EDUCATORS: Hunter Health will host a walk-in vax clinic at the Belmont hub this Sunday for workers across all education sectors including early childhood, pre-school, school, VET and university. No appointments necessary, just walk in between 8am to 2.45pm. Wear a mask, bring evidence of your workplace and a form of ID.
¿ TESTING: Testing remains a really important part of our battle with Covid-19. Please don't be complacent. If you experience any symptoms, get tested as soon as possible.
¿ QUESTIONS: Please see my Facebook or Website pages for answers to frequently asked questions. Service NSW also has a 24/7 hotline where people are available to answer questions. You can reach them on 13 77 88.
¿ STAY SAFE, stay vigilant, and stay home unless you absolutely have to go somewhere.
