Covid update - Friday

592 new cases have been recorded in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours, including 175 in Lake Macquarie. Hunter Region: 534 new cases. Statewide: 5,612 new cases.

¿ COVID UPDATE - 11AM, FRIDAY DECEMBER 24
¿ 592 new cases have been recorded in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours, including 175 in Lake Macquarie.
¿ Hunter Region: 534 new cases.
¿ Statewide: 5,612 new cases.
¿ There are now 6,769 active cases in the Hunter health district.
¿ In positive news, we only have 13 hospitalisations for Covid in local hospitals, with 2 in ICU.
¿ Of the 592 new cases:
- 194 are from Newcastle LGA
- 175 are from Lake Macquarie LGA
- 75 are from Maitland LGA
- 33 are from Cessnock LGA
- 30 are from Port Stephens LGA
- 18 are from Mid Coast LGA
- 17 are from Tamworth Regional LGA
- 16 are from Singleton LGA
- 10 are from Armidale Regional LGA
- 5 are from Muswellbrook LGA
- 4 are from Moree Plains LGA
- 4 are from Upper Hunter LGA
- 3 are from Inverell LGA
- 2 are from Dungog LGA
- 2 are from Glen Innes LGA
- 1 is from Gunnedah LGA

¿ STATEWIDE
- 94.9% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 93.5% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 81.6% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.3% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 164,144 tests
- 5,612 total new cases
- 382 people in hospital
- 53 people in ICU
- 1 death

¿ISOLATION UPDATE: NSW Health has updated the rules for self isolation, including when you finish! The link to the fact sheet is HERE.
¿ TESTING: Testing remains a really important part of our battle with Covid-19. Please don't be complacent. If you experience any symptoms, get tested as soon as possible. Given the latest news, there are delays at all local testing centres and some people are waiting more than two hours. Many testing clinics will be open longer hours, and you can check those details HERE.
