Covid update - Wednesday

775 new cases have been recorded in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours, including 187 in Lake Macquarie. Hunter Region: 650 new cases. Statewide: 11,201 new cases, and three more deaths.
¿ COVID UPDATE - 11AM, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 29
¿ 775 new cases have been recorded in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours, including 187 in Lake Macquarie.
¿ Hunter Region: 650 new cases.
¿ Statewide: 11,201 new cases, and three more deaths.
¿ Two local deaths: Sadly, two of those deaths are in the local region. One woman in her 70s and one woman in her 90s, died at the Warabrook Aged Care facility in Newcastle where they acquired their infections. The woman in her 90s had received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions. The woman in her 70s had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions. My sincere condolences go out to their family and friends.
¿ There are now 7743 active cases in the Hunter health district.
¿ We now have 31 people being treated for Covid in local hospitals, with 3 in ICU.
¿ Of the new cases in the health district:

- 185 are from Newcastle LGA
- 122 are from Maitland LGA
- 55 are from Cessnock LGA
- 52 are from Port Stephens LGA
- 47 are from Tamworth Regional LGA

- 95% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 93.5% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 81.5% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.2% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
