¿ A big shout-out to all the teachers and schools who have been busy preparing for the return of students this week. It's not going to be a perfect ride for everyone, but I know that our schools have done everything they can to provide a safe return for our kids and have plans in place to manage the inevitable problems as they arise. ¿ Covid patients currently in Hunter Health district hospitals: 73 (up 3 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 7 (unchanged since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 2779 (up 116 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in NSW ICU: 185 (up 3 since yesterday, 67 on ventilation)
¿ New cases in Hunter Health district since yesterday: 1193 (down 336 since yesterday, 465 PCR and 728 RAT)
¿ New cases statewide since yesterday: 13,026 (down 498 on the previous day, PCR 7362 + 5664 RAT)
¿ Lives lost in NSW over the past 24 hours: 27. This brings the total number of lives lost to Covid in NSW to 1395.
¿ Lives lost in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours: 2 (one woman and one man, both from the Maitland LGA. One was in their 70s and one was in their 90s. My sincere condolences go out to their families and friends.)
¿ STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES
- 95.4% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 94% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 39.4% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*
- 83.2% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.5% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 38.7% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
