¿ UPDATE ON VAD BILL and ERARING CLOSURE
¿ A pretty busy week in Parliament so far:
¿ Debate on the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill finally began in the Upper House. Things are going well but I've been critical of the time allocated to this important debate and it's attracted a lot of media coverage. At the current rate, it will take months. Debate on the Bill will recommence next Wednesday. I'm pictured here with a few of the Bill's supporters who again rallied in number outside Parliament House this week in support of our push to provide a choice for people with a terminal illness.
¿ Used Question Time to push the Government on its plans for energy security once Eraring closes, and on plans to create new jobs in our district to replace those we're losing in this rapid transition of the energy industry. I also delivered a Private Member's Statement on the same issue.
