¿ BREAKING NEWS: The Government has today announced changes to Covid isolation rules. From 6pm this Friday, household or close contacts will NOT have to isolate at home for seven days. They will, however, have to have a rapid test (RAT) each day if coming into contact with other people or work colleagues. Additionally, they will not be able to visit aged care homes, hospitals, disability and correctional centres unless a special exemption applies. They must also wear a mask in indoor settings outside the home.
¿ New cases in Hunter-New England Health district in past 24 hours: 2069 (Up 620 on previous day's figure and still the highest of any health district in NSW. 448 PCR + 1621 RAT).
¿ Covid patients currently in Hunter Health district hospitals: 84 (Up 2 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 3 (Up 1 since yesterday)
¿ Lives lost in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours: 1 (a woman in her 70s from Lake Macquarie LGA. My sincere condolences go out to her family and friends).
¿ Cases in Lake Macquarie over the past four weeks: 5898 (Down 317 on the previous day).
¿ New cases statewide in past 24 hours: 15,414 (Up 4558 on previous day, 5103 PCR + 10,311 RAT)
¿ Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 1639 (Up 16 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in NSW ICU: 72 (Up 2 on previous day, 24 requiring ventilation)
¿ Lives lost in NSW over the past 24 hours: 15 (Up 7 on previous day)
¿ STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES
- 96.1% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 94.7% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 61.8% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*
- 83.3% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 79.5% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 49.9% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
