Our nurses and midwives deserve better

Can you believe that when the Government works out nurse-to-patient and midwife-to-patient ratios, baby numbers aren't actually included?
That's just one of the reasons why I joined local nurses and midwives at their rally outside John Hunter Hospital today.
Our nurses and midwives deserve better pay and conditions, and they certainly deserve to have staff-to-patient ratios properly counted to include babies!
Today is also International Day of the Midwife, so I also want to acknowledge and thank all who work in midwifery services. I absolutely stand with all of you on this campaign for a better deal.
