Bushfire closes Palmers Road

There is a bushfire currently burning on the eastern side of the M1 at Freemans Waterhole.
Elvis the water-bombing helicopter is currently collecting water from the lake at Toronto and dumping it on the fire front.
Our fantastic fire crews have everything in check at this stage and have brought it under control, however a section of Palmers Road is closed.
While no homes are currently under threat, people in that area should monitor the RFS website and Facebook page, and local news channels.
