THE state government has announced a new Service NSW Centre will be up and running in Toronto Town Square, on The Boulevarde, in the first half of 2019.

Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello and Member for Lake Macquarie Greg Piper announced the location on Thursday.

The centre will provide locals with access to about 40 NSW government agencies under the one roof.

Mr Dominello said the centre would provide face-to-face services and allow people to get a birth certificate, vehicle registration, and also Seniors Cards.

“The list of services doesn’t stop there as people can also lodge a medical change of conditions for driver licences and apply for a death or marriage certificate,” Mr Dominello said.

“Service NSW has transformed the way people access government services, making it an efficient and friendly experience.

“Service NSW is also a gateway to government savings and incentives which will help ease the cost of living, including CTP refunds as well as Active Kids vouchers.”

Mr Piper said he was happy with the location.

“It’s taken a little while to get an appropriate location locked in but this is a great result worth waiting for,” he said.

“Locals will know the site as the former Miller’s store. Under the plan, a couple of nearby retailers will be relocated to bigger and better premises a few doors down so the new Service NSW centre can fit in.

“This will be a major boost for the Toronto town centre. I again thank the NSW government and Minister Dominello for listening to this community and returning these services to the people of western Lake Macquarie.”

The centre is part of the $20 million expansion of the Service NSW network into rural and regional areas, a spokesperson for the government said.
