Lake Macquarie High School

It's a real pleasure to acknowledge the outstanding achievement of Lake Macquarie High School, which has been recognised by the NSW Department of Education as one of just 45 public schools across the state showing the most improved HSC results in 2025. This recognition doesn't come easily. It reflects sustained, consistent effort over the past seven years with more students achieving higher HSC band scores and strong progress right across the board. Principal Brendan Maher has rightly acknowledged this milestone belongs to the whole school community. It's the result of students applying themselves, teachers going the extra mile, and families providing essential support at home. When all of these elements come together, this is exactly the kind of success we hope to see. The school's focus on smaller class settings, strong wellbeing programs, and continued investment in modern learning spaces is clearly making a difference. Congratulations to the 2025 HSC students and their teachers. This is a fantastic result for the school and for our local community, and I look forward to seeing that momentum continue in the years ahead.
