An awesome foursome is about to take on the world-first, record breaking challenge of riding a Quad Tandem Bike from Perth to Sydney, in a bid to raise $500,000 for suicide prevention education and charity Gotcha 4 Life. This unique endeavour, termed Ride 4 Life, is the brainchild of Ride 4 Rescue founder Louise Ginn from Bonnells Bay. Completing her talented crew are Sonia Allum from Berekley Vale, Anna Beaden from the Gold Coast and Rachael Beaden from the Sunshine Coast. I recently joined the Ride 4 Life crew on a training ride at Cooranbong and had the chance to help peddle the impressive Quad Tandem bicycle, which is the only road worthy bike of its kind in Australia. While I had a lot of fun with the ladies, they've certainly got their work cut out for them as they navigate from Perth to Adeliade, through the Nullarbor to Canberra and on to Sydney! To accomplish this feat they will have to average 120 kilometres per-day, to complete the 4,200 kilometre journey within a six-week time frame. I wish them all the best on their huge undertaking this very worthwhile cause.
