Sam and Hayat Zoghbi
Lake Macquarie is home to some truly generous business owners, and I acknowledge Sam and Hayat Zoghbi from Simply Pharmacy Toronto who continually give back to our community. I recently had the pleasure of joining Sam and Hayat outside the pharmacy building for the official opening of the 'Lake and Land' Mural. This huge artwork spans the entire length of the building, which exceeds 30 metres, and was sponsored by Simply Pharmacy. Created in collaboration with Toronto Area Sustainability Neighbourhood Group, and four local Aboriginal artists, the mural has transformed a previous graffiti hot-spot into a vibrant and meaningful feature of the town centre. A place of pride, rather than a location of vandalism. This year also marks Simply Pharmacy's 20th birthday. Since opening in March 2006, Simply Pharmacy has become more than a trusted chemist, gaining a reputation as a caring corporate citizen through hosting free morning teas, supporting local fundraisers, holding children's colouring competitions, taking part in Halloween festivities and offering free hearing tests. Thank you Sam, Hayat and the Simply Pharmacy team for the positive contribution you make to the Toronto community.
