On behalf of the Lake Macquarie community, I congratulate Southlakes U3A on reaching an incredible milestone, namely, its 10th anniversary.

U3A's motto, "Learn, Laugh, Live", is more than just words; it's a reflection of the vibrant, welcoming, and inspiring community this organisation has built. Over the past decade, Southlakes U3A has not only endured but flourished, offering connection, enrichment, and purpose to those aged over 55, semi-retired and/or retired residents in the Southlakes region.

This success is thanks to the hard work of dedicated volunteers and board members: Sharon Millar, Jeffrey Hickin, Mavis Crawford, Samantha Ridgway, Derek Ridgway, Cath Sharpe, and Anne Urquhart. And of course, a special tribute must go to founding President Laurene Malcahy—whose energy, passion, and persistence have been the driving force behind it all. From Brain Health to Ukulele Groups, Chair Yoga to Politics classes, yes, Laurene twisted my arm, Southlakes U3A offers countless ways for members to grow, connect, and thrive. Thank you for your contribution to our community, and congratulations again on this important anniversary. Here's to many more years of learning, laughter, and living well.
