I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Stephen Raymond of Dora Creek, for being awarded the Emergency Services Medal in this year's King's Birthday Honours. This is a significant achievement, and one that is well deserved.

Stephen first joined the emergency services back in 1989 with the Rural Fire Service, he quickly moved up the ranks and became a Brigade Captain, before moving into a paid position in 1998. After 27 years with the RFS, Stephen made the move to join Marine Rescue NSW where he works as a Duty Operations Manager. Stephen has now been with Marine Rescue NSW for nine years, and whether he's out on the water, behind the radio, or training new volunteers, his commitment to keeping our community safe on the water is admirable.

Last year, Stephen and his team were involved in a rescue operation on our waterways nearly every day. They brought, a combined 2,800 people back to safety.

Thank you, Stephen, for everything you've done and continue to do for our community and congratulations again on this well-deserved honour.
