Since the mid-70s the Toronto Amateur Sailing Club [TASC] has been a flagship of the Lake Macqaurie community and was recently recognised in the 2025 Lake Mac Awards, being highly commended in the Community Group of the Year category. Built by volunteers on reclaimed land, the clubhouse was constructed from donated materials, including repurposed railway rails from the nearby train switch yard.

Over the years TASC has significantly boosted the local economy and tourism, hosting multiple State and National events, such as the 48th Australia Tasar, the Windsurfer Class Australian and NSW Optimist Class State Championships. In 2024 TASC was honoured as the Australian Sailing Club of the Year (Category B) at both the NSW and ACT Sailing, and National Sailing Awards. The club is NSW's premier dinghy sailing regatta venue.

The Youth Sail NSW, one of Australia's largest youth sailing events, will be hosted in October. TASC is also highly inclusive and is the base for Toronto Sailability, a program aimed at helping people living with a disability enjoy a rewarding sailing experience. I thank everyone involved in making this wonderful club the place it is today.
