I would like to acknowledge the remarkable achievements and dedication to music education of Trish O'Hearn, musical director of Catalina Brass and Principal cornet of Toronto Brass. Trish is an extremely accomplished musician and has had a star-studded career working alongside music legends such as James Morrison who just last year, she enlisted to help her celebrate the 60th anniversary of Toronto Brass. Trish has been a part of community bands since she was young. She is also a member of Central Coast Brass and was invited to be a member of National Australia Brass, where she performed in various concerts including the International Brass Festival in Melbourne. With a talent for nurturing and guiding young musicians, Trish is currently the Head of Program in Brass at the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music and also travels throughout the country to adjudicate and mentor at band events and for HSC exams. Recently her achievements saw her nominated as the 2024 Lake Mac Creative and Performing Arts Leader and while she missed out on the top gong, she did receive a Highly Commended accolade.
