You might have seen NSW Police Force Commissioner Mick Fuller on the news warning that going out for a casual drive can now attract a $1000 fine.

You really need to be aware of this as the Easter long weekend rolls around because police ARE fining people who are not undertaking essential travel (full explanation in comments) or exercise.

People need to stop looking for excuses or loopholes to flout the rules that are in place for an extremely important reason - they won't wash with police.

You cannot travel up the coast to a holiday home, you cannot stay at an Airbnb or Stayz, you cannot head off for a family group catch-up, you cannot jump in the car and go for a drive unless it's essential travel.

We ARE getting on top of this pandemic and I'm extremely pleased that, so far, Lake Macquarie has the lowest level of infection rates per capita in the region.

WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING and see this through.

Please STAY HOME, SAVE LIVES.
