New jetty for Balcolyn

Really pleased to announce that we've been successful in getting some State funds for a new pontoon jetty at Balcolyn.

The Government will go halves with Lake Macquarie City Council on the $264,000 project which will be built alongside the boat ramp.

The pontoon will be similar to that at Sunshine.

The funds will come from the State's Boating Now scheme which uses the money collected from boating licence and registration fees and reinvests it in infrastructure projects like this.

We've been able to get a good slice of that fund, as reflected by the new jetties at Wangi and Speers Point, and some good work by the council in putting the applications together.

Certainly good news for our local boaters and fishos!
