COVID UPDATE - Thursday January 21
FOUR DAYS IN A ROW. NO NEW CASES of community transmission anywhere in NSW.
The Hunter-New England region has now gone 167 days without a locally-acquired case.
There were 5 new cases among the returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine over the past 24 hours.
Yesterday's testing numbers appear low, but NSW Health said an IT glitch excluded 6,000 negative tests yesterday. Those 6000 will be included in tomorrow's tally.
Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
The number of active cases in NSW has fallen again and now stands at 87. Victoria has 34, there are 23 in QLD, 13 in WA, 6 in SA and 9 in the NT. Tasmania and the ACT have zero.
Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately.
