¿ COVID UPDATE - Thursday February 11
¿ In good news, there's been no new case of community transmission recorded anywhere in NSW for the 25th consecutive day, and just 3 new cases have emerged among the returned overseas travellers in quarantine.
¿ The Hunter-New England region has now gone 189 days without a locally-acquired case.
¿ The situation in Victoria is being closely monitored. Two new cases of community transmission have been reported there, bringing the number of infections in this new cluster to 8 over the past week. It appears at this stage to be mostly contained but NSW Health remains on alert and has implemented stricter screening processes for Victorians visiting NSW. There are no border closures or travel restrictions at this stage, but things are being monitored by the hour and may change.
¿ The number of active cases in NSW remains at 9. There are 17 in Victoria, 6 in QLD, 8 in WA, 4 in SA and 4 in the NT. Tasmania and the ACT have zero active cases.
¿ Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
¿ Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
¿ Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately.
