¿ COVID UPDATE - Tuesday March 9
¿ More than 89,000 vaccinations have so far been carried out in Australia. Of those, almost 22,000 have been given in NSW. A long way to go but we can expect to see those numbers increase dramatically in the coming weeks and months. (See my earlier post about the latest on the vaccination rollout).
¿ NSW has recorded no new cases of community transmission for the 51st consecutive day. The Hunter Region has now gone 215 days without a locally-transmitted case.
¿ NSW is now including returned travellers in its 'active case' numbers in line with other States. NSW currently has 57 active cases (all are returned travellers in quarantine). There are 6 in Victoria, 33 in QLD, 8 in WA, 5 in SA and 4 in the ACT. The NT and Tasmania has zero active cases.
¿ Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 of those in NSW.
