Seven local schools have had facility upgrades approved in the second round of the government's Regional School Renewal Program. This is the program aimed at reducing the school maintenance and infrastructure backlog which was fast-tracked under the government's post-Covid stimulus package.
These projects have been approved in the second round of funding, with tenders to go out soon:
¿¿¿ Arcadia Vale Public School: Upgrade to learning unit and existing facilities.
¿¿¿ Biraban Public School: Canteen upgrade.
¿¿¿ Bonnells Bay Public School - Official: Canteen refurbishment.
¿¿¿Cardiff Public School: Building refurbishments including canteen, staff room, class room and storage areas.
¿¿¿ Lake Macquarie High School - Official: Toilet block upgrades (x2 blocks)
¿¿¿ Morisset High School: Canteen refurbishment.
¿¿¿ Wyee Public School: Covered walkway between admin and canteen.
¿¿¿ Wyee Public School: Access and car parking improvements.
There's a lot more work to be done and I'm hopeful we'll see even more funding announced in the next round.
