¿Parts of the Hunter have been declared a natural disaster zone. We have some moderate flooding in low-lying areas at the moment, but the Bureau is warning us that there is more rain to come tonight, tomorrow and Tuesday.
¿Parts of the area have now had almost 500mm of rain since Thursday.
¿In regards to road closures, Lake Macquarie City Council is regularly updating this link: lakemac.com.au/road-closures
¿The closure of Wangi Rd near the golf course at Toronto is intermittent, so please take care in that area and only go out if you need to.
¿A severe weather warning remains in place for the Hunter for continuing rain through tonight and tomorrow.
¿Due to an overwhelming number of requests for assistance and the amount of sandbags required, local SES volunteers have been stretched thin.
They are asking members of the community who are available to assist with preparing sandbags to help.
The Boolaroo depot is located on the Cnr of Fourth st & Creek Reserve rd, Boolaroo.
The Cooranbong unit is located at 513 Freemans Dr, Cooranbong
