COVID UPDATE - Monday May 17

Firstly, there hasn't been any reported case of community transmission in NSW since the somewhat random (and now isolated) case appeared in Sydney's east almost two weeks ago.

Restrictions in Sydney and on the Central Coast have been lifted today. Masks are no longer compulsory on public transport.

It's now been 284 days since we had a case of community transmission in the Hunter-New England Health District.

As you can see below, the number of people vaccinated in NSW is nearing the million mark. Anyone aged 50 or above is now eligible for a vaccine. Check with you local GP for a time and date, but if your GP is not administering the vaccine, you can find other places
here.

NSW currently has 91 active cases, Victoria has 23, QLD has 13, WA has 7, SA has 14 and the NT has 6. TAS and the ACT have zero. (Note: all but five in those totals are returned overseas travellers in quarantine).

Australia's death toll remains at 910, with 56 of those in NSW.
