Just a quick update on Covid concerns out of Sydney and the Parliament; yesterday along with anyone who presented to Parliament for the final sitting day of the week and for the passage of the budget, I was required to isolate in my office if not attending to Parliamentary business. Having had a Covid test in the morning and returning a Negative result, I was in the evening allowed to travel directly home and isolate there until further advised.
Unfortunately along with a number of other members I have been advised that my relative close proximity to Minister Adam Marshall who is infected, during the Treasurer's budget speech has me deemed a close contact requiring me to quarantine for 14 days.
So here I am at home (luckily, I know) with Lyn required to find alternate arrangements (sorry Darl) and not have visitors or leave except for emergencies or for Covid tests I am required to take.
This means that I will be rearranging my schedule and in many cases working remotely. My office for now will remain open however there could be some changes needed.
What I and Parliamentary colleagues will go through is nothing compared to what so many have and are putting up with in hotel quarantine. Very much thinking of those people and hoping that the community stays safe around Lake Macquarie and NSW and Australia gets this back under control. Keep safe everyone, and if you can get a vaccine, please do.
