¿ COVID UPDATE - Wednesday July 14 ¿
¿ The Premier has today announced that all existing restrictions will continue for a further two weeks until Friday July 30. The mask rules, the visitor rules, the QR code rules etc are all with us for another two weeks.
¿ There were 97 new cases of community transmission reported in the 24 hours to 8pm, and of those, 24 were in the community while infectious before their positive test. Both of those figures are up slightly on the previous day.
¿ It's important to note that all of those cases are in the Sydney area. For the 342nd consecutive day, we have had no community transmission in the Lake Macquarie-Newcastle area and I'm so grateful and proud of our community for that record.
¿ There are now 71 people being treated in the State's hospitals for Covid complications, with 20 in ICU and four people being kept alive on ventilators.
¿ I also want to pass on my thanks to everyone doing the right thing and protecting each other. You are the 99% majority using common sense to protect yourselves, your families and friends, and who are keeping our local community safe. Thank you for sticking together, and seeing this through together. We'll get there! Please stay vigilant and stay safe.
