Covid update - Thursday

Lives lost in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours: 2, including a 2-month-old infant and a man in his 80s from Mid Coast LGA. The infant passed away at John Hunter Hospital last December. The death was referred to the Coroner
¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.45am, THURSDAY MARCH 24
¿ Lives lost in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours: 2, including a 2-month-old infant and a man in his 80s from Mid Coast LGA.
The infant passed away at John Hunter Hospital last December.
The death, first publicly reported in January, was referred to the Coroner, who has this week determined the infant died due to COVID-19 infection (Omicron variant). The infant had no underlying health conditions.
My heartfelt condolences are extended to the infant's family.

¿ Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 4 (up 1 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 1180 (up 18 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in NSW ICU: 43 (down 1 since yesterday, 14 requiring ventilation)
¿ New cases in Hunter-New England Health district in past 24 hours: 2734 (up 61 on previous day's figure, 918 PCR + 1816 RAT).
¿ New cases in Lake Macquarie over the past four weeks: 3149 (up 146 on previous day).
¿ New cases statewide in past 24 hours: 24,803 (up 688 on previous day, 10,042 PCR + 14,761 RAT)
¿ Lives lost in NSW over the past 24 hours: 8 (Up 3 on previous day)
¿ STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES
- 96% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 94.5% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 58.8% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 83.5% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 79.3% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 49% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
