¿ The second phase of the State Government's ban on single-use plastics comes into force next Tuesday.

¿ The phase-out of single-use plastic bags began on June 1, but on November 1 the ban will be extended to single-use plastic straws, stirrers and cutlery, plastic plates and bowls and expanded polystyrene foodware and cups.

¿ The ban also includes single-use plastic cotton buds and rinse-off personal care products such as face cleansers and exfoliants which contain plastic microbeads. In regards to the latter, about 99% of companies which produce personal care products have already phased out the use of plastic microbeads so you probably won't see much change there.

¿ More information on the ban HERE.
