Meet the real heroes in our community
14th February 2023
I spent Valentine's Day morning with a charity group close to my heart.
Survivor's R Us Incorporated helps not only survivors of domestic violence but anyone in need of assistance.
In the 25 days Survivor's R Us has been open this year, volunteers have already helped 137 people in crisis and more than 70,000 people since opening in 2017.
It was great to meet representatives from so many local charities, not-for-profit groups and other organisations which have the collective aim of helping those in need, and hear about all of the good work they're doing.
Survivor's R Us provide free BBQ breakfasts, meals and hot food, food hampers, counselling services, laundry services, furniture and many other support services for people in need.
I wholeheartedly thank all of them for what they do in our local community.
